Love, Peace and Music

It was 40 years ago that young hippies spread the message of love and peace while they watched the sun come up at the Woodstock music festival, an event that defined the 1960s.

Sound Offs: New Orleans is the Place to Be

I just got back from a short trip to New Orleans and let me tell you, with all the people there having a good time and spending money, there did not seem like there was a recession going on. There were families, young couples, old couples and people from all walks of life. The French Quarter was booming. Plane ticket prices are lower than ever so if you get a chance to do a weekend trip or vacation this summer check out some of the inexpensive and fun things to do in New Orleans.

Sound Offs: Washington D.C.

I spent the weekend in Washington D.C. and had the opportunity to go to a lot of good restaurants and musuems. For those of you with a tight budget, why not visit the Smithsonian museums. These museums are free and filled with so much great stuff. It is a great place to take kids, friends and family. Make a short vacation of it and you can save lots of money.

I also had the opportunity to eat at a few local restaurants in the D.C. area. These places were packed so there is no doubt that people still go out to eat and have a good time.

Matchbox has great atmosphere and pizza.

Taqueria Poblano has great salsa for a great price.

Generous George’s Positive Pizza and Pasta Place is a positvie place for family and friends.

One of our clients, Risk Management Associates, is having an open house today to celebrate 21 years in business. They were hoping for 100 people to come, but had more then 250 RSVPs. This let’s us know for sure that people are looking for positive things to celebrate and have a great time. Congratulations RMA!

Sound Offs: People Still Gotta Eat

For those of you who are new to our site, Sound Offs are when we give acknowledgement to local businesses that are doing something well.

Over the past week I have been out quite a few times for dinner. Why not enjoy a fun night out and a good meal? And I have noticed that there are quite a few places that are getting a lot of traffic. Here are a few local businesses in NC that have great food, drink and atmosphere for a nice time out.

Allen & Son in Chapel Hill, NC

Ribeyes Steakhouse in Snow Hill, NC

The Chocolate Bean in Cary, NC
