Starting With A Handshake

College football games are going to start differently this year. Starting this season, players will start the game with a pre-game handshake.

As part of a sportsmanship initiative, the American Football Coaches Association and NCAA are encouraging schools to arrange teamwide handshakes on the field before kickoff.
The handshake is not planned to happen for the entire season, only the first week. Coaches are asked to have their players shake hands at the beginning of the game, but it is not mandatory. Hopefully, a good-sportsmanship tradition will start.
