Making Transplants Reality

The African-American surgeon, who is head of the kidney transplant program at Georgetown hospital, discovered a way to provide 2000 to 3000 more organs to suffering patients every year.

Dr. Keith Melancon recently supervised a kidney donation chain requiring 14 surgeries on 14 people over four days.  People are donating kidneys to people that they may have never met. This is another great story from MSNBC’s Making a Difference campaign!
